BookAI has been selected for the 2026 GIH Taiwan-Belgium Softlanding Program, one of only 10 Taiwan startups chosen for the cohort. Following our selection for TTA × VivaTech Paris, Belgium is our second European stop in June — and this time, we're heading straight into the heart of Europe.

Why Belgium?

Belgium is small in size but central to everything that happens in Europe.

The political and diplomatic core of Europe: Brussels is home to the headquarters of both the EU and NATO, along with over a thousand international organizations and diplomatic missions. The city isn't called the "Capital of Europe" without reason — it's where European policy gets made.

The crossroads of Western European trade: Positioned at the intersection of France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, Belgium operates one of Europe's most connected rail and road networks, and its port of Antwerp is among the busiest in the world. It is the logistical backbone of the European continent.

A linguistic and cultural meeting point: Dutch, French, and German coexist as official languages within Belgium's borders. Germanic and Latin cultures intersect here — making Belgium itself a microcosm of the broader European market.

For BookAI, there is no better entry point into Europe.

What Is the GIH Taiwan-Belgium Softlanding Program?

GIH (Global Innovation Hub) is a startup internationalization initiative run by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. For 2026, GIH partnered with Belgian accelerator IGNITY, the Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX), and the Belgian Office in Taipei to build a structured European market entry program for Taiwanese startups.

The goal isn't an exhibition appearance — it's real market entry: one-on-one mentoring with Belgian industry experts, targeted business matchmaking, and an in-country visit with logistical support and subsidy.

BookAI's European Expansion

Europe is one of BookAI's core target markets. Publishers, rights agencies, and content owners across Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium hold some of the world's most significant rights catalogs. Yet most of that content still surfaces primarily through in-person book fair matchmaking — deal flow limited to a few weeks per year.

BookAI is building the infrastructure that makes rights discovery and deal flow happen every day — not just during fair week.

When a content supplier uploads their catalog, BookAI's AI automatically indexes it across languages, deploys it into global buyer contexts, and continuously surfaces rights opportunities.

"Your rights catalog shouldn't be silent. It should speak every language."
"Discovery is where we start. Transaction is where it ends."

This June, BookAI brings that infrastructure directly into Europe: first at VivaTech Paris (June 17–20, TTA Booth Hall 7.2 B48), then into Belgium — the heart of Europe — for structured on-the-ground market entry.
